There is already a punishment for leavers.

There wasn't enough leavers to warrant any real issue until the addition of titles.

The issue at heart isn't that there are leavers, the issue is that you aren't getting points on your title fast enough. The title is the root of the leavers and it is also the root of your complaints. Remove them and everyone is better off.

Having to waste 12 mins (everyone was dead 4 minutes after the begging) because both monks want to him and because if you leave you won't be able to get back in PvP for another hour is a little harsh.

Then comes all the little things that can make you have to leave (important phone call, unexpected thing occurring), would you rather have a leecher ?

Many people already get dishonor because they leave the match before the "return to outpost" countdown has expired. Imagine how many people might get screwed by the "leave 5 times in 24 hours, can't play PvP for 24 hours" idea.

Explaining something doesn't make you a teacher. It just makes you someone smart enough to actually explain why they have a certain opinion. The purpose of this forum isn't to guess what others think.
I do not have 2explain anything if I don't want.
If people don't see why it has no solution in the end then thats THEIR problem.

The argument for this is simple.... ANET cannot force you to remain in a match or agree to remain in teams with players who you deem (correctly OR not) to be at an insufficient standard to achieve success.

There is no clause in the EULA that states 'tho shalt play with crap players'

Seriously.... its true, people just don't want to... every RA session I do I utilise my 1 free leave, and will routinely leave after 1 match win or lose until I have a team I decide is likely to get me 15+ wins. Then I hang about....

What you will begin to realise and you can go check out my looonnnnggg thread on RA and other stuff is there are sure fire ways to make people in ur team leave.... this include..... W/Mo, Exalted Aegis, Mo/Me, R/E, E/Mo, N/Mo, D, P, pvp swords, Tactics shields on wars... just to name a few (the list is endless).

The end point of this is PEOPLE GENERALLY DO NOT LEAVE AT RANDOM... they leave cos 1 or 2 or 3 of the other people in the team are BAADDDD -whether i be build, profession, skills, equipment or guild (YES guild)...

If you find people are regularly leaving teams your in.... maybe dont make a thread qqing about how they should be shot, hung, and tortured for daring to abandon ship in the face of certain defeat..... and MAYBE just MAYBE you should work on making them not leave by ummmmmmm........ being good....????? I dunno thats my 2 cents....

you know what......... people never normally leave teams I'm in..... strange...... meh, guess i suck

man i'm gonna get some OP rage!

Pz

and NO, /notsigned its pointless and in a dead game why ban the few players that play it regularly???
ALSO on another note.... for all the likeminded players out there.... if you really hate a player your in a team with and wanna make them suffer in RA.... after 1 win, wait till the reset counter is below 3 seconds... i.e. 3 seconds till next match.... and THEN leave.... a) no Dishonor points
b) they don't get a new player for this match and have to fight next with 3.... = lose =/punishment for being 'pro wammo'

maybe anet should fix this???? NAAAA too much fun /notsigned for that either

pz again
At least somebody else whos brain fuctions properly in my book and anyone who has the capacity 2 view things in a wider range instead of just: punish this guy, he doesn't want 2play with me

Yup, but removing the titles wouldn't do any good now. Hopefully no more PvP titles in Guild Wars 2...

Yes that is a GENIUS suggestion..... lol *insert sarcasm here*

anyways.....

I kinda agree..... however not for ANY of the reasons you had when suggesting this....
Firslty you all need to acknowledge that there is a range of players in guild wars....
1) TERRIBLE - dosent bring 8 skills, and hasnt done attribute quests, no elite skills
2) Really bad ones
3) Ones who think running wiki bars makes ya good
4) People who think they should be able to win at RA but dont understand why it takes 1 hr to get 1 glad point <--- maybe some people in this thread fall into this category
5) People who are bad but PvP a lot <- HAers
6) People who bring shield sets
7) people whose screen is not 99% skill bar and actually look up from their skills at the field
8) People who use their shield sets
9) people who use the information from the field
10) people who pre kite wars
11) warriors who look at weapon sets of targets and calculate what +AR they have on their shield
12) Monks who count adrenaline
13) Pro players

AND LOTS inbetween these... not most people are 3,4,5. YES probably you reading this..... get over it
BUT there is a difference in skill (NOT skills, but player SKILL)

once accepting this....

a) PvP title are easy to get (all of them)
b) If you cant get them your bad 1,2
c) if u get them slowly u aint great 3,4
d) All of them barring champ are a grind
e) champ requires being vaguely decent 6,7

Therefore by definition PvP titles are good for distinguishing between 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 on the list...

THEREFORE for anyone beyond that point PvP titles are irrelevant.... most of top GvGers are r11 or so, maybe glad 6 or 7..... do you honeslty think they will recruit based on title????? NO THEY DONT.... they need to know WHO you are.... that counts for more than titles!

So yeah, get rid of titles.... IT STILL wont get you guys picked for teams because you are unknown and havent yet passed 6 on the list....
ALSO.... in RA... I and MANY others will STILL leave teams if we think they might be bad.... I dont care about my glad title since they killed TA, way too far to next rank to consider it... I play for practise and fun... but losing aint fun, so I LEAVE teams with bad players to wait for a GOOD team to rickroll everyone else....

SO... removing titles or having no titles in PvP might get you picked for a team, but kicked as soon as they realise a fundamental, titles are just used as a gauge for how good someone might be, but it is one of MANY measures which tbh are more accurate than titles.... and these are the things (not titles) that seperate the good from the bad

That's not completely true, and in the moments it is true, it sucks for the player actually carrying the team because that player feels the burden and stress of having to dish out all the damage and utility, play some serious tab-wars, camp on vamp, doing everything possible to score hits and knockdowns... i.e.: I'm on my Dev. Hammer warrior, and I have a strong monk, but only a pure interrupt mesmer with next to nothing for damage, and an ele with many random, sub-optimal Air Magic spells [a few with 2 second cast times, which're basically interrupt fodder, and take longer to output pressure]. The opposition also has heavy anti-melee [BSurge Ele *with Disciplined Stance or SBash jic my Hammer war lands a hit after a blind wears off with blind redux mods*, ESurge Mesmer with Empathy, Necro with Faintheartedness, enfeeble, and Insidious Parasite and Bonetti's Defense, and a very strong monk with Dolyak + Protector's Defense]. There's no way in HELL that my Dev. Hammer warrior's gonna be able to break through all those layers of defense and blind! Unless ofc they all somehow lose their minds and simultaneously go afk, resign, or don't use their skills right, if at all...

I know for a fact that, even if I have a monk on my team, if my other two team members are terribad, lack damage or utility, etc.. I'd still map out after we win or lose.

Bottom line though, players leave because no-monk teams lose well over half the time, and losing isn't fun for most players. I think that this imbalance should be fixed instead of just increasing punishments. Punishments in general drive players away by default, so making punishments harsher is only going to contribute to even more inactivity. If you're thinking, "Oh well, I don't care...", then you need to play something other than an MMORPG because obviously it's not your cup of tea if you have that kind of attitude.

About the no-Monk thing, I think that's why they're making Guild Wars 2 without a dedicated healer class. So players will be more self sufficient. I know I'm going to love it.=p
